There is an established belief about Assam oud: the harsher, more animalic, and barn-like it smells, the more authentic it is. However, a significant part of this sharp character arises from the wood being soaked and fermented for a long time.
This oil lacks that heavy veil. What remains is the true voice of Assam agarwood.
Upon initial contact, a dark, dry, and resin-filled wood is perceived. Then, freshly chopped tobacco leaves, cool henna leaves, and spices newly crushed in a mortar emerge. The cleanliness of the opening does not imply lightness; the strong backbone of Assam wood is entirely in place. Only the sour and noisy aspect of fermentation has been removed.
As the skin warms, the landscape expands. The steam of strong black tea, dry herbs, well-tanned leather, and a subtle sweetness of honey from afar… A warm resinous texture, occasionally reminiscent of candied wood, also reveals itself. A natural musk shadow might linger deep within; however, this is not an animalic quality that turns into a barn-like association, but an elegant trace remaining in the dark side of the wood.
A good non-fermented Assam does not tame the power of Hindi oud; it makes it visible. The lines between wood, tobacco, and spice become clearer. With each sniff, another detail is captured; sometimes the bitterness of tea, sometimes the warmth of leather, and sometimes the almost edible darkness of resin…
For those who only know Hindi oud by its barn note, this bottle is a quiet yet utterly convincing objection.

What does non-fermented mean?
The intense barn and sharp animalic qualities created by long fermentation are not aimed for. This allows the resinous, tobacco-like, and spicy character of Assam wood to be perceived more clearly. Being non-fermented does not mean this oud is light or lacking character; it simply indicates that it derives its power from elsewhere.
Usage
A tiny drop taken with the tip of an oud stick is sufficient. Apply the oil to the inside of your wrist and do not judge immediately. After a few minutes, the layers of tobacco, tea, leather, and resin will slowly separate with the warmth of your skin.
As with all natural oud oils, small variations due to the wood's structure and harvest may be observed. This variability is not a flaw; it is a natural signature that makes each bottle unique.

How should I apply this oud?
Apply a single drop to pulse points — wrist, neck, behind the ears. Concentrated oils bloom over minutes, so wear sparingly.
How long does it last?
Pure oud oil is exceptionally long-lasting; expect 10–12 hours on skin and considerably longer on fabric.
